报告题目：Novel Insights into Androgen Receptor Transcriptional Regulation in Prostate Cancer

报告人简介：Dr. Cheung is current a Professor in Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Macau. He received his bachelor degree in Biochemistry and Biology at UC-Berkeley, then pursued a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology from University of Manchester, UK. After finishing his Postdoc training at Cornell University, he launched his independent research career as an Assistant Professor at Genome Institute of Singapore (and also as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at National University of Singapore) in 2004. In 2013, he moved to University of Macau and lead a group focusing on prostate cancer research. His lab is investigating how sex hormones such as estrogens and androgens regulate the transcriptional activities of nuclear hormone receptors in the context of a chromatin environment, and how these pathways relate to disease conditions such as cancers. He employs a combination of many cutting-edge technologies, including ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, Hi-C and ChIA-PET (3D genome), to define the molecular mechanisms of transcriptional regulation by hormone receptors. He has published more then 50 papers reputed international journals, including Nature, Cell, EMBO J, PNAS, and Genome Research.

Edwin Cheung本科毕业于UC-Berkeley，博士毕业于英国曼彻斯特大学，博士后Training在康乃尔大学。而后从2004年到2013年，在新加坡基因組学研究所和新加坡国立大学担任独立PI, 2013年加入澳门大学任职教授。现任Molecular Cancer Research编委，曾在Nature, Cell, EMBO J, PNAS, Genome Research等生命科学领域的权威杂志上发表论文50余篇。仅2018年一年内发表6篇（包括Genome Research和Cell Reports等）。在3D基因组调控方面有诸多突出的成果。主持多项科研基金，比如新加坡著名的A*STAR BMRC Grant和国家科技部重大研发计划等。
